Northern Lights Plaid Scarf

Updated: Jun 4, 2020

This design was the first pattern that I submitted to a magazine. I didn't expect that the design would be accepted, I didn't even expect a reply. I was so shocked when my copy came through the door and I released that my design was the big central picture on the front cover.

I remember making this while I was away camping, it was very stressful trying to meet the deadline and I think that's why I haven't submitted to a magazine in a while. I've realised that I'd rather go at my own pace and enjoy the design aspect and the process than get worried and stressed about deadlines.

The scarf is created by weaving chain lengths through a crocheted mesh. I love this design because it has a very unique construction so not many people have seen the technique before. It uses the gorgeous West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4 Ply which is a pure wool sock yarn. I love all the vibrant colours which are available with this yarn; there are some variegated colourways too.

The pattern is available to purchase on Ravelry. You can follow this link https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/red-hot-sweater

Thanks for reading

Joe :))
